This is such a great post! I love your authenticity, we need voices (and recipes!) like yours to keep real food traditions alive in the midst of the AI blahhh. I used to use Pinterest for a lot of recipe inspiration, but lately have definitely noticed more pins that lead to basic recipes with terrible instructions and very AI photos. I certainly use AI for a lot of things, but I don't trust an AI bot to write recipes if it can't taste! I'll stick with the cookbooks and food creators that actually test their recipes and share real food.
Thank you so much @Kirsten ♥️🙏🏽 Who would’ve ever thought food creators would have to compete with AI. And yes, you are exactly right. AI bots cannot taste. Now we just have to train the humans not to follow AI recipes.
YES!!! So happy that you got to talk about this on a national level! We talked about this very thing on my podcast a few months ago (you mentioned your husband and an AI cookie fail!) - I LOVE that you brought more attention to this topic. It’s so important! 🙌💞
Thank you so much Betty! If you have any examples of your own photos or recipes being stolen and used without permission, including AI-generated photos or posts that clearly used your work as source material — I’d love to feature them in my next Substack post.
Crimes against Tamales! It really makes me mad, as you say, ingredients are so expensive right now, and tamales are also labor-intensive. Una falta de respeto.
Thanks for letting the world know about this AI deception. I enjoy sites like yours because of the REAL recipes with excellent photography, proper ingredients and logical instructions. Keep up the good work!

RIGHT?! Do you have any examples of AI using your photos/recipes?

Saw the Bloomberg piece like everyone else. You were just the right person for those opportunities! Keep cooking and keep writing. You're great at it.
